MCP23008 IO Expander - Interrupt control

Posted by Picasa

Now I have written the following functions to detect keyboard interrutpts.  The function DetectInterrupt does print the interrupt flag and interrupt capture register states.  But I don't know what they mean.  So I read the datasheet again.

def DetectInterrupt(registerBaseAddress):
    while True:
        interruptFlagNibble = ReadInterruptFlagHighNibble(registerBaseAddress)
        interruptCaptureNibble = ReadInterruptCaptureHighNibble(registerBaseAddress)
        print "Interrupt flag nibble    = ", hex(interruptFlagNibble)
        print "Interrupt capture nibble = ", hex(interruptCaptureNibble)
sleep(2)

def TestDetectInterrupt():
    RegisterBaseAddress =  MCP23008BaseAddress2
    SetupInterruptCompareDefaultValueOpenDrainOutput(RegisterBaseAddress)
    DetectInterrupt(RegisterBaseAddress)

.END
