USB hub testing notes

Now I have replaced USB hub's poor contact power socket by 2 wires extended some 30 cm to connect to the external 5V PSU.

So RPi and USB hub each has its own 5V PSU.  RPi has 2 USB sockets, one connected to the WiFi dongle, the other an USB extender cable connected to the USB hub.

The USB hub has 4 switches which independently switch on or off an USB device.  I have checked that I can hot switch on off and use PuTTY commands lsusb to check that the corresponding web cam are recognized.  One slight problem is that lsusb does not display the model number for C920, but only says logitec device.  It does display C270 though.
