After trying the MCP 4.1V voltage reference, I thought I would also try the 2.5V. But then I found what I bought from TaoBao is not the same sort of 3 terminals, but a 2 terminal thing called band gap voltage reference. I have been using Zener diode all these years but never heard about band gap reference. I googled the datasheet and found it very good, because the current range is very very wide, from 10 uA to20mA.
So I will try to use 1mA and see what happens.
