Now I have rewritten the MCP23017 functions, with the following changes.
1. No more using all big letters and underscore for constants, because they are not that pleasing to the eyes. Instead, constant names start with a big letter, and sue more big letters instead of underscores. For example PORT_A is now PortA.
2. Using an array to store the register address offsets, as show below
# * Register address array indexes *
InputOutputDirection = 0
InputPolarity = 1
InterruptOnChangeEnable = 2
InterruptOnChangeDefaultValue = 3
InterruptOnChangeMode = 4
Configuration = 5
PullUpResistor = 6
InterruptFlag = 7
InterruptCapture = 8
PortStatus = 9
OutputLatch = 10
# * Registerr address arrays *
Band0RegisterAddressArray = [0x00, 0x01, 0x02, 0x03, 0x04, 0x05, 0x06, 0x07, 0x08, 0x09, 0x0a,
0x10, 0x11, 0x12, 0x13, 0x14, 0x15, 0x16, 0x17, 0x18, 0x19, 0x1a]
Band1RegisterAddressArray = [0x00, 0x02, 0x04, 0x06, 0x08, 0x0a, 0x11, 0x13, 0x15, 0x17, 0x19,
0x01, 0x03, 0x05, 0x07, 0x09, 0x10, 0x12, 0x14, 0x16, 0x18, 0x1a]
The following 3 statements toggles MCP23017 Port A
setupGPIO()
startBeep()
testToggleMCP23017PortA()
All the MCP23017 functions and constants are now group together, to make it easy to convert of classes.
