So I tested the good looking PORTS 4 port independently switchable USB hub. I found C270 works OK, but C920 gives flickering, wrong jig jaw like patterns. I swapped power supply, swapped USB positions, and repeatedly a couple of times, finally confirmed the following.
The PORTS USB hub is problematic, at least for C920. For C270, it is OK.
The YuanXin USB hub, on the other hand, works always for both C270 and C920, and is stable.
